Plainfield Plays Tennis!

September 25, Plainfield, NJ - A free, fun, Fall Family Tennis Day was held at the Donald Van Blake Tennis Center for Plainfielders who enjoy the sport of tennis. The event ran from 3-8PM on a crisp, clear, perfect Sunday afternoon, and was hosted by the Plainfield City Council and the Division of Recreation. It was open to Adults, Teens and Children ages 12 and Under. Round Robins were conducted for the High School and Middle School teams. Several courts were reserved for Beginners, Children and Adults, with instruction given by USTA NJ Regional President Lou Wiggs. Mayor Adrian Mapp, as well as other city officials and Lou Wiggs gave their greetings and salutations.

Mr. Donald Van Blake was the Special Guest!

Grilled, delicious hot dogs and liquid refreshments were provided by the City Council. It was a well organized and well attended event, which will serve to continue to promote and develop the growth of tennis in Plainfield.
