Two Young Ladies from New Jersey Capture The Championship and Finalist Trophies At The USTA Girls' 12 National Indoor Singles Championship

Kaitlyn Carnicella of Whippany, NJ Wins USTA Girls’ 12 National Indoor Singles Championship and Stephanie Yakoff of Fort Lee, Singles Finalist

 

Chatham, New Jersey, November 30, 2017:

Kaitlyn Carnicella of Whippany, NJ captured the singles title at the USTA Girls’ 12 National Indoor Championship at Centercourt Chatham. The tournament had a 64 player draw with competitors participating from 22 states, Puerto Rico and the District of Columbia

 

Kaitlyn Carnicella (9 seed) beat Stephanie Yakoff (2 seed) 6-2, 6-2 in the championship match.

 

Carnicella also received the tournament Sportsmanship Award which recognized her good sportsmanship, positive demeanor and fair play.

 

The National Indoor Championship returned to the national junior tournament schedule this year for the first time since 1999. The importance of indoor tennis-play in many USTA Sections contributed to the return of the USTA National Indoor Championship.

 

The tournament was presented by Laurel Springs School, a private, accredited, online school, for high-quality academics. The tournament was played at Centercourt Sports Academy facilities in Chatham and Florham Park, New Jersey.
